How long has First Coast Pride, Inc. been servicing the greater Jacksonville community?
First Coast Pride, Inc. arose as a phoenix in 2001 when a small group of community activist sought to enhance the services provided by the LGCAJ, Jacksonville Gay Pride Committee and the “Out and About Newspaper”. Combined, the organization has been in existence for over 29 years but was not founded as a non-profit organization until 1989.
What does First Coast Pride, Inc. do?
First Coast Pride, Inc. provides educational programming, community activities and services including but not limited to the annual First Coast Pride Festival Celebration, publication of the monthly newspaper “Out in the CityTM ", and offers HIV/AIDS and breast cancer outreach education and services.
How does First Coast Pride receive funding?
From You! First Coast Pride, Inc. is operates on Friends of Pride donations, sponsorships, grants and advertisign.
Do you have to be GLBT to get involved with First Coast Pride or to participate in pride activities?
No! First Coast Pride does not discriminate and welcomes everyone.
Is this really an all volunteer organization?
Yes! First Coast Pride, Inc. is operated by all volunteers
